Sun, sea, olive trees, the white brightness of baroque cathedrals, the flavour of fresh seafish and the fragrance of the bread of Altamura just taken out of the oven...all this and much more for those who are going to choose a holiday really pleasant in every season, but above all in spring or autumn. The “Trulli” of Alberobello, recently declared patrimony of mankind, will give you their welcome in the land of the Swabian king Federico II. Cycling along the beautiful Valle d’Itria, up to the white Ostuni on the top of a hill with its simple but charming late-gotic cathedral, you will come to Lecce and will be surprised by the richness of its art treasures, particulrly its baroque churches; then it will be possible to discover the charme of Otranto, a port located exactly where the Adriatic sea meets the Ionian sea; you will pass through the Salento following the coast road, up to the extreme point of cape S. Maria di Leuca intorduced by its white lighthouse, where it is possible to listen to the breath of the sea and to go into raptures with the sweet smell of the Mediterranean vegetation; at last, come to Gallipoli, we’ll leave, with a few regret, this generous land and its beautiful sea.
