REQUEST INFORMATION

This route takes us to an unknown Piedmont, but not for this minor. We start from Lake Maggiore, the largest in Piedmont, and we travel along the roads of the vineyards of the famous Gattinara wine. Then here is another smaller lake, Lake Viverone. We are in the area of the castles, all perched on the hills. However, we cycle at the foot of the mountains going around the Serra di Ivrea, an extraordinary morainic hill, then we cross Cuorgnè and Lanzo, medieval towns with a lot of history behind them. Finally Venaria Reale, where you can admire and visit the Royal Palace and its Gardens, comparable - in fact they date back to the same period - to the Palace of Versailles. Finally we arrive in Turin along a beautiful cycle path along the Dora river. In Alpignano it will be possible to visit the museum of the Italian inventor of the light bulb, Cruto.

The tour is part of the Bicitalia 12 route, the Italian cycling network that crosses all the regions.

Along the route, the Ricetto di Candelo is worth a stop, an ancient medieval fortification splendidly preserved, inside which there are numerous artisan workshops; in Biella, we can go up to the upper town, to admire the view and for a half-day break, and then set off again towards Lake Viverone.
